Publicity Beckons
If you want to take part in the British Council sports photography event - you need to get your skates on! Get in touch with a committee member or a coach who will steer you in the right direction.
Be aware - you will need to be at the pool on Friday at 19:00 sharp if you want to take part! See the main article Photoshoot!

Gala time!It is that time of the year where the coaching staff is starting to gain momentum in organising the gala for this school term. It is important for your child to attend as it gives us a yardstick to measure your swimmers progress, and an idea of where to concentrate our coaching efforts for the next term. The coaches also use the times collected as an initial basis for selecting swimmers for galas and competitions with other clubs - don't miss out - make sure you get your times taken at this next gala. Provisionally we are looking at Friday 26th March 2010. The gala will take place instead of the normal training sessions and will once again cost nothing to enter. We will take this opportunity to run a raffle and possibly a hot dog stand; and profits made on the evening will go towards restocking equipment for the club. Keep an eye open on the website for updates!

Lights, Cameras, Action!The British Council is carrying out an arts related project involving young people (mainly teenagers) in sport. We have been asked if we would be interested in allowing a photographer to take some photos (head and shoulders only) of a couple of swimmers to be used in Madrid as part of Photo Espana in June and July. There will also be a short interview of the swimmers views on sport etc as part of the process. The photographer will be coming down with a member of the British Council on Friday the 12th of March. Please discuss this with your parents if you are interested in taking part. Anyone who does get their photo used will be presented with a full colour photographic print as a thank you.
